Where’s my WebFiling Authentication Code?

Misplaced your Companies House WebFiling Authentication Code? Read this post to find out how you can retrieve it, whether your company was formed with us or not.

If your limited company was formed with us

You’ll find your Companies House WebFiling Authentication Code (sometimes known as just the ‘web filing code’) in your online account with us. Simply:

1.Go to www.companiesmadesimple.com and login:

2.Select ‘My Companies’ from your dashboard:

3.Click on the company name that you want the WebFiling Authentication Code for:

4.You’ll find the code in the ‘WebFiling Authentication Code’ field:

If your limited company was not formed with us

1.Sign in (or register if you’re not yet registered) to Companies House WebFiling

2.Select ‘Request an authentication code’

3.Select where the company was formed (England/Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland), enter the company number, click ‘Continue’ and then confirm that the information is correct

Once confirmed Companies House will arrange for the WebFiling Authentication Code to be posted to the company’s registered office. This is normally received within 5 days.
