What is the Last Members List?
If you take a look at the Companies House webcheck you may notice a field dedicated to the “Last Members List” and then a date. So what does this mean?
The “Members List” is a document that details directors, secretaries and shareholders in a company. This document must be filed every three years. The date next to the field represents when the last list was correct up to.
The reason that most people are unfamiliar with this is because the requested information is already provided in most annual returns (all online annual returns automatically include this information and paper returns have an optional area dedicated to it that most people choose to complete). Therefore, in most cases nothing extra needs to be filed.
