Company Dividends
The payment by a company to the members of that company. Most listed companies (those who can afford it) pay dividends to their shareholders often twice a year. They are a means to reward and repay investors for purchasing a state in the company.
In smaller private limited companies where the director(s) and the shareholders are often the same people, dividends can be a way of of directors taking remuneration from the company in a tax efficient manner.
Every individual has different personal circumstances and therefore you should consult the appropriate professional advice before making payments. This should ensure that funds are exacted from the company in the most effective means.
